Illustration does not mean what it used to. With the invent of digital media, it is very easy to get pictures from the web, tweak them a bit and call them your own. There was once a time when you had to be good with a marker, pen and ink, charcoal.
Thanks to Adobe, there is a whole new world to illustration talent. I try to keep with my roots, and stay fluid in those mediums as well as others, but I have also become extremely proficient in the digital world. PhotoShop and Illustrator have become my new mastered medium and I have become very knowledgeable with the pen tool by understanding the mathematical basics behind vector curves and also understanding pixel based illustrations.
